PBnJ (Philanthropy Board in Jackson Co.) is the cooperative effort of the Maquoketa Area Community Foundation and the Jackson County ISU Extension service. PBnJ will give young people the opportunity to examine and identify the needs of the communities in which they live, report and evaluate their findings, identify key challenges and needs of their communities, and consider how they can effectively meet those needs. Through their participation, they will strengthen their leadership skills, learn to build consensus and make decisions as a group. This Board will provide an important insight into philanthropy and its impact on a community’s quality of life. Applications are now being accepted for 2010-11 Youth Board members. Representatives from the Junior and Senior classes of each school in Jackson County will be selected from applications submitted by Friday, September 3rd. Please contact the Community Foundation or Jackson County Extension office with questions.
